Mar 17, 2023 — A lot of folks take selfies in front of signs at landmarks, like the Las Vegas sign, or Welcome to Canada or Grand Canyon National Park. But have you ever taken a photo in front of an entrance to the Adirondack Park? The blue line encompasses an area larger than some states, yet it holds a different place in the hearts of Americans than other great natural places. This week on the North Words podcast, writer Matt Dallos talk about his new book "In the Adirondacks," and the inherent contradiction of living in a place that has as many neon signs as it does trail markers.
You can find out more about Matt by visiting his website here. While you're there you can drop him a line, pick up a copy of his book, or learn about his plant-focused design studio, Thicket Workshop.
Don't forget to subscribe to the show wherever you get your podcasts so you never miss an episode. And hey, while you're getting free shows, why not get a free sticker too? A brand new North Words sticker, as a matter of fact. Email Mitch by writing to [email protected] and say "hey! Give me one of those stickers!" Make sure to include your mailing address, though - we're all pretty smart but unfortunately not mind-readers yet. You don't have to put it on your laptop or water bottle - you could put it on your car, or your fridge, or I don't know, even your forehead. But with a great sticker comes great responsibility, so stick wisely.
